Please add prefix toggling for single prefix nodes

I love Multi Prefix, but when only one prefix is allowed in a node, choosing a new prefix should toggle the old one.

For example, my For Sale node has two prefixes: For Sale and Sold. Even though only one prefix is allowed in this node, when the user marks the item Sold, both prefixes are now enabled. Then when they try to submit, they get the error: This node only allows one prefix...

Please make Multi Prefix look at the max number of prefixes. If it is 1, then choosing a new prefix should toggle the old one off.

I've been patiently hoping for this feature for two years. Hopefully it will make it into version 2.
