Yes, I get asked about this by our board members.
XF actually implements "older than" search, it just doesn't give it a UI on the search form.
Implemented in next feature version;
and
Mobile view is a little wonky due to it not falling into a new line, but close enough.
There will also be a style property to revert to the old UI

I need the feature. It does not seem possible to include it in the search expression since it is not "content."

As you may have noticed I downloaded most of your addons as we were building my test site. In my account record here it said I had downloaded the latest one, but apparently I had mislaid it on the way since 3.3.3 was actually what was installed.
I upgraded and everything is great. I even found some interesting old threads from 2006 on my site while checking it out.
