User upgrade help

Looking for some help regarding the User upgrades feature on XF.

If a user donates towards the site I manually add them to a new user group (VIP) which grants them certain access to features. Id like to automate this a little more because managing the VIP is becoming time consuming. Would the user upgrades feature do this?

Just looking for when someone upgrades their account they are moved to the VIP usergroup and then when it expires that access is removed automatically. Is this possible?

Yes, this is exactly what user upgrades can do.

The user make a payment via the 'account upgrades' form, and then you can configure it to given a usergroup for whatever length of time.
